Mark your calendars for these upcoming People Network Calls. For handy calendar entries, please try the CaRCC Events Calendar. We’d also like to highlight other calls from our RCD Ecosystem partners and collaborators, as these events touch many, if not all, in our community.
Video recording of the 2022 CaRCC Parade is now available on the CaRCC YouTube channel. This annual presentation at the beginning of each calendar year provides an update on CaRCC’s activities and accomplishments over the past year, and plans for the future, including opportunities for community members to get more involved.

Mark your calendars for the below People Network Calls in January (Zoom details at the end). For handy calendar entries, please try the CaRCC Events Calendar. We’d also like to highlight other calls from our RCD Ecosystem partners and collaborators, as these events touch many, if not all, in our community.
Additionally, note that we are repeating the CaRCC Parade this year, an opportunity to learn about CaRCC and to hear directly from group coordinators on updates and advances over the past year.
CaRCC continues to grow and evolve — the People Network alone currently has over 1000 persons on its mailing list; and the working groups continue to make progress on their goals. Many persons within CaRCC and across the RCD ecosystem are “boundary spanning” — bringing groups together, sharing ideas, and helping both the RCD profession and the research & researchers we support.
Please join us for this now annual event. We will give attendees an overview & update on the organization; highlight some key, example activities and outputs of a couple Working Groups, and conclude with Engagement. This is a great time to invite new colleagues to come and learn about CaRCC, its activities, and how to Get Started or Get Involved!
A reminder to join us for the CaRCC End-of-Year Party on Thursday, December 9, from 1-2:30pm ET, in lieu of People Network track calls this month. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in two breakout room sessions (switching half-way through the call) with activities organized around the following:

Thanks to all the attendees and participants in the Capabilities Model activities at PEARC this year!
Following the CaRCC Town Hall, the Caps Model paper presentation, and the full-day Capabilities Model workshop, we had an overwhelming number of new downloads for the tool. Because of this and the feedback from those institutions already working through the Model, we are extending the data submission deadline to September 27, 2020. We hope the extra time will allow everyone to complete the Model and meet the 2020 community data submission deadline.
